Himalaya College of Engineering organizes a workshop on ‘Employment in ICT: Opportunities and Challenges’

Himalaya College of Engineering organized a workshop on ‘Employment in ICT: Opportunities and Challenges’ at the Hotel Yak and Yeti on 6th Ashad. Ambassador from Israel Mr. Benny Omer was the Chief Guest and Registrar of Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Sudha Tripathi was the special guest of the programme.  Rameshwor Aryal, Managing Director welcomed the guest and emphasized the need of additional work on science and technology for the country’s prosperity.   Excellency Benny Omer appreciated the efforts of the College and opined that today’s world has been controlled by science and technology and Israel is always ready to go together with Nepal to provide quality technical education to the students.

Special Guest of the programme, Prof. Dr. Sudha Tripathi shared that Tribhuvan University is working on better quality and practical education to its students and Himalaya College of Engineering has helped a lot in achieving this goal of TU by providing its students quality education.  Mr. Himal Karmacharya presented the gap of Industry and Academia in Nepal expressing his experiences of Leapfrog.

Pro.Dr. Subarna shakya from Institute of Engineering studies also highlighted the role of HCOE in providing quality technical education to the students in Nepal. The inaugural program was followed by discussions on employment in ICT education. Karbika Thapa  moderated the program where  Mr.Russel Richmond from Leapfrog, Mr. Rom Kanta  Pandey , Vice president of CAN, Dr.Sunil  Pokharel , Manager of Nepal Telecom, and  Mr. Bibhusan Bista CEO of Young Innovation along with  Er. Ashok GM,  HCOE opined their views.  Kapil Dev Regmi, Director praised the valuable contribution of Benny Omer to Nepal and shared that Nepal could learn a lot from Israeli Technology. Er. Madan Sharma appreciated the cooperation of the team and assured that HOEC will organize such events in the future too.
